Three friends who were found mysteriously dead inside their Airbnb likely died of carbon monoxide poisoning, local authorities have said.
An investigation was launched into the three US citizens' deaths, after Courtez Hall, 33, and Kandace Florence and Jordan Marshall, both 28, were found dead in Mexico City during the Day of the Dead celebrations.
Ms Florence's boyfriend said he was on the phone with her on the night of October 30 and she told him she was feeling unwell.
He explained that their call was disconnected.
After failing to get back in touch he called the Airbnb host to make a welfare check and the three friends were found dead by authorities who turned up at the address soon after.

Local authorities have now said the trio likely died of carbon monoxide poisoning, with autopsy reports cited by Bloomberg indicating they inhaled the deadly toxin.
The investigation into their deaths is continuing.
Ceola Hall, Mr Hall's mum told WDSU the family had spoken to him on October 29, when they arrived.
The US Embassy then called the following Monday to say all three had been found dead.

She added: “He loved me, he loved his family. He loved to make everyone laugh.”
The families have reported difficulties in getting information, as well as retrieving personal belongings - largely due to the language barriers.
Mr Marshall's mum, Jennifer Marshall, went to Mexico City, along with Ms Florence’s sister-in-law Amy Green and brother Chad.
Ms Marshall told the news outlet: “To lose your child is one thing, but in a whole other country and having to manoeuvre language barriers and travel and trying to get his body home, it’s been a lot."
Ms Green added: “We thought that going to the embassy first would aid us in that regard, but they didn’t have translators that could accompany us to the various places like the forensics office or police station."
Ms Marshall said Airbnb explained her son's belongings had been given to Mexican police and that the bodies are expected to be flown to the US this week.
